Ubisoft Shuts Down XDefiant Amid Strategic Shifts

Ubisoft, one of the gaming industry’s titans, has announced plans to shut down the servers of its free-to-play first-person shooter XDefiant. This decision comes amidst broader operational changes at the company, including studio closures and downsizing efforts, as Ubisoft seeks to recalibrate its strategy following a challenging financial year.

Launched with aspirations to challenge titles like Call of Duty, XDefiant initially generated considerable buzz. Ubisoft has committed to refunding purchases made after November 3, 2024, and offers full refunds for its Ultimate Founders Pack.
